Although museums around the world hold large amounts of information and research, global collaboration and discovery is restricted by our ability to store and share data and research. Project DIG will help to unlock that knowledge—digitising Queensland Museum’s datasets in a process that will see scientists and communities exploring and engaging with data in ways not before possible, unleashing its potential. This will eventually be expanded to include everything from our largest dinosaur bones to the smallest ammonite. It’s an exciting but extensive task. In partnership with BHP, QMN are making this happen—keep up with our journey of discovery here or @projectDIG on social media or #ProjectDIGQM on social media.
