On 17 August 2019, 3,500 attendees came to experience Unearthed! celebrating National Science Week with a fun filled day of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths) entertainment at the Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre (MECC). The action packed program included entertainment and activities for the whole family including fossil finding, droid racing, robot building, virtual reality and more.

The one day event, held each year in August, brought together scientists, experts and performers from both the local region and wider Queensland. Program highlights included live demonstrations with Pepper the Robot, drone coding with STEM Punks, creating volcanic eruptions with Queensland Museum and getting hands on with Queensland tropical megafauna discoveries.

Unearthed! will return to Mackay next year. See you in 2020!
